Meet Holly – one of our composed and meticulous banquet managers!

When asked what the Art of Hospitality means to her, she replied, “balancing high standards with class and exuberance”. While providing the Art of Hospitality, Holly is responsible for leading our talented staff to provide memorable and meaningful events for our guests in a fun yet professional way.

What does Holly like most about working at HORIZONS? “I like the variety of events and my co-workers. There is always something new to learn and an opportunity to make someone’s day, whether it is someone I work with or a guest.”.

Before coming to HORIZONS, Holly worked briefly in insurance accounting but has years of experience in various segments of hospitality (which is what she majored in at Ohio State University!).

Taking a trip down memory lane, Holly shared her favorite memory from her hospitality journey, which occurred during her time at Ohio State University. The event planning committee at OSU hosted a sensory friendly dinner called Hospitality Listens for families that have children on the Autism Spectrum.

Her favorite part of the Hospitality Listens experience was working with the families and other resource centers to better understand how a family who has a child with ASD can be impacted when going out to eat as well as being able to offer leisure activities where they did not have to worry about anything except being themselves and having fun in a judgement free zone. She gained valuable knowledge from being involved with this event that she has been able to carry with her along her hospitality journey.

Outside of work, Holly enjoys anything involving the outdoors and animals, as well as activities like yoga, reading, attending concerts, painting, gardening, baking and spending time with friends and family.
