Karen has been with HORIZONS for 28 years, starting as a server in 1996 and advancing to Banquet Manager in 2019. What does the Art of Hospitality mean to her? It’s all about building connections by recognizing familiar faces, remembering names (even when they are at events other than their own) and always going the extra mile to exceed expectations.
As a manager, Karen plays a vital role in creating seamless, memorable experiences for our guests. Her responsibilities include overseeing event spaces, managing offsite functions, and guiding servers to ensure every event is both successful and enjoyable.
When asked what she loves most about HORIZONS, Karen stated, “I love the diversity of parties and services that we offer to guests as well as meeting so many different groups of people.”
Before coming to HORIZONS, Karen worked as a server at Sullivan’s Food&Spirits.
Her favorite memories from working here have been getting to know Dr. and Patty Shaheen over the years and having the opportunity to work two of their children’s weddings.
In her free time, Karen enjoys spending time with her family. “Days off are for doing things with my five grandsons – all of whom are extremely active.” She also enjoys doing puzzles, taking long walks and doing anything and everything with her two daughters.
