When asked what the Art of Hospitality means to her, Valarie replied, “Art is an expression of creativity and hospitality is the act of welcoming someone like family. The Art of Hospitality means helping you feel at home throughout the entire experience. The result is an event that feels genuine, welcoming and truly your own. My role is to support you every step of the way.”
Valarie helps guests bring their event ideas to life in a seamless, stress-free way. She guides them through the booking and planning process to ensure their vision comes to life.
Valarie focuses on weddings, working with couples from their first call through their departure after the big day. She began her career in hospitality and has remained in the field, most recently handling event detailing before joining HORIZONS.
What does Valarie like most about working for HORIZONS? Valarie says, “I love the opportunity to connect with people on a real level. Each client I work with wants to make an impression with their event. I am honored to be a part of that process and make connections along the way.”
When asked about her favorite memory from working here so far, she reminisced about her first time touring the Temple Theatre. “The rich history, warm feel and unique look of the venue is exciting! The Leopard Lounge is an amazing space to host an unforgettable small event, ceremony or cocktail hour. The large, bright ballroom with its spiral staircase adds a touch of grandeur and an auditorium and stage wedding ceremony, lecture or even a small VIP stage dinner would be an unforgettable experience!”
As she creates memories at HORIZONS, some of her favorite stories so far in the hospitality industry come with different opportunities she has had throughout the years. Opportunities such as attending events throughout the state of Michigan, seeing trends and learning new ways to make an event even more memorable. We are excited to bring Valarie’s skills to our team!
In her free time, Valarie enjoys many activities such as gardening, cooking and traveling!
