Winter Weddings: What to Expect and Plan

Winter Weddings: What to Expect and Plan

Every season has the potential for a beautiful wedding. With each season there are things to consider while planning – winter weddings can be beautiful and elegant. They also have a lot of factors that are important to plan for.

Outdoor Photos

Photos with snow

If you’ve decided on a winter wedding, you’ve probably fallen in love with online photos of couples in dreamy, snowy landscapes. Timing is everything to get the elegant look you’re hoping to achieve. You’ll get the best photos after a fresh dusting.

Photo Locations

If the weather worsens, have a backup space for a photo location.

Know your photographer

That perfect lighting photographers achieve with “golden hour” will be different with each season. Some photographers might not specialize in outdoor winter photography. Research different photographers and browse through their galleries to see if they have good experience with winter wedding photoshoots.

Brides and Bridesmaids – Wraps and Capes

For the bride and her bridesmaids, consider adding a cape or wrap to help protect from the elements if any photos are to be outdoors. The experience won’t be fun if you’re freezing to the bone!

Depending on the height of snow (if any) consider having boots for the bridal party to slip on as they move around during the photo session.

Sweet Additions
